Um. Hullo.

Since the weather's started to change, I find it necessary to ask about what's normally done to care for the plantlife here in colder seasons? I've noticed a handful of gardens around the village -- is there a spell to seal the temperature around them? I've been growing a few things that I'd rather not lose...

If not, then this place could probably use a greenhouse before the ground gets too cold to sustain anything.

And, um. I guess that's all. Thanks.

I suppose I should be surprised that you care more about plants than most other things, but I'm not.

Plants need more care than other things. Someone's got to give it. [He's biting back the insults for now. For Harry's sake, he's playing nice.]

[There's a pause at that though, because yeah, kind of totally got that reference.] ...right. I suppose there's some truth in that. But it's not as though plants grow fast here anyway.

All the more reason to look into hanging on to what we have.

It's a lot of manual work though, isn't it?

I just don't see why I should have to when there are people like you who plan to do it anyway. Why waste energy on something like that when I could be doing something else?

I don't know about being helpful, but being lazy gets tiresome after enough time here. [Probably. It's appreciated, and he knows he's awesome. And maybe he's attempting to make nice because of Harry, but it's really, really challenging.] You're one of the last of us to get stuck here. Just watch how it turns out.

What does coming last have to do with anything? [The sentiment is reciprocated.]

It means that you haven't worn out your welcome yet as far as they're concerned.
